Our time here is almost over. In August we had 2 potluck BBQ Dinners, the first at our place and the second one at North Eagle Lake, where Craig and Sharon are campground hosts. The men cared for grilling and the women had some nice food cooked. Those gatherings are always fun! Please, see the photo album of Susanville 2011.
We have to help in the Historic Railroad Depot next Sunday for 4 hours one more time and we have to shuttle the bikes for the trail riders one more time to Westwood next Saturday. The new hosts for Hobo Camp are Mike and Anita, work here till end of November. They arrive on Sept.6. and we are leaving on Sept. 7, but Dieter will introduce Mike to his work on the Bizz Johnson Trail first and we leave about noon. The drive to Fernley. Nevada, takes only a couple of hours.
We liked the area very much and our surroundings are wonderful. Our boss Stan Bales is admired by us for all the work he does, he created more trails since we left here in 2008, the Ranch Park in Susanville and the future Modoc Trail ( Rails to Trails program). He also spearheaded the repair of one of the Trail bridges over the Susan River near Devils Coral Trailhead. The Bizz Johnson Trail is in the Rails to Trails Hall of Fame and Stan gets Awards often.

He is also a co-founder and lifetime member of Lassen Land and Trails Trust, a non-profit organisation to benefit events for the enjoyment of the public.
I myself am in the process of cleaning, washing all the carpets, cleaning all the mini blinds - 13 overall - the dust is remarkable because in high summer we have young people taking the sandy Hobo Camp Road as training tool for racing. Sometimes we had to interrupt our sitting outside and go inside the trailer until the dust settled......We did not have any rain here this summer.
Dieter will rake the pathways and picnic areas one more time, take our outside carpets up and stow them away before we wash our trailer.
Till my next blog: Take care! And, please, do not forget to look into other pages of my journal also. Thank You!
